Power Project was born in the 1290m2 of vacant garages underground the Ledbury Estate that is the Livesey Exchange. Designers and makers, James and Maya met at a workshop in PemPeople‘s 91 Peckham High Street shop. They met the following week in the garages to discuss the current culture and gender balance of the manufacturing industry. After noting the few women they had both worked alongside, they decided it was time to create an entry point for women into metal and woodwork fabrication. Livesey Exchange have welcomed Power Project to the space, engaging with local women to ready them for employment in the local manufacturing sector.
